About our Founder, Ben West
Ben West is a landscape gardener with a passion for conservation. He spent his formative years exploring the woods, fields and waterways of Staffordshire, and studied environmental management at Keele University before moving to Surrey.
Ben has worked in the horticulture industry since he was sixteen. After twelve years, he saw a need for a landscaping design company that has sustainability at the heart of every project. He founded Landscaping Solutions in 2005, rebranding as LandSol in 2020. Ben now combines his extensive practical experience with qualifications in Garden Design and Horticulture from Capel Manor College to deliver outstanding regenerative gardens in keeping with his environmental values.
Ben is a keen naturalist. When he’s not working on landscaping projects, he can be found tramping the woods and countryside around his home in Molesey in Surrey where he lives with his wife and three children. He follows conservation issues closely and is a regular contributor to ProLandscaper magazine.
Looking ahead, Ben plans to focus on creating natural landscapes and regenerative gardens to take LandSol to where the earth needs it to be. He hopes to bring wildlife and
sustainability into every landscape he designs.
